Many airlines have become more lenient with their cancellation policies, allowing you to change your destination or dates without additional cost. So it’s a good idea to check with your airline before paying for unnecessary insurance.

Its worth remembering to book your flight with a company that is signed up to a trade body that offers customer protection (if the airline goes bust) such as AITO or ABTA.

Also pay with your credit card so that if the company does go bust your payment will be covered and you will be refunded.
